The Millsaps were out of town the first part of last week, visiting one of our former apprentices and his family in Ohio! We shovelled mulch, wired coolers, shovelled mulch, planted lettuce, shovelled mulch, and planted spinach, and, surprise, shovelled mulch!!! We had a great time, with many conversations about this challenging and rewarding calling of farming, lots of great food, and even an all-hands on deck dance competition! It was really exciting to see how their farm is getting established, and help them out with a labor boost.
Meanwhile, back on Millsap Farm, Kimby and the crew kept things rolling along, harvesting, planting, and weeding in the lovely fall weather, and getting a bountiful share into your hands. The warm weather has been great for the spinach and other greens, and we have a share that's a nice balance of greens, roots, and squash this week. We hope you have a fantastic holiday feast this Thursday, and we'll see you on Friday or Saturday. Please note; if you are a home delivery, and you are not going to be home this weekend, let us know, so we can hold your share on the farm, rather than deliver it to a vacant house.
