Happy Wednesday from our sunflowers and their pollinators! (see image above)
This week we have kept busy by planting and seeding for the next season. Farm apprentice Matt and the trusty BCS (a small two-wheel tractor) created a new little plot which was quickly lined with irrigation and filled in with bell peppers. It's always exciting to see an unused grassy area transform into impressive beds with crops in just a few hours. You can look forward to seeing those peppers in your boxes in the upcoming months. This week we also harvested the first of many zucchini to come as well as some beautiful golden pineapples!
With an abundance of certain crops we have also been coming up with some new ideas for value added products to provide as options in the boxes so stay tuned to learn about what we're cooking up! I heard rumors of carrot top pesto and pickled radishes to come...
As always please stop by the Farm Tienda at Little LaGrange on Saturday to say hi and see what other produce we've got this week as well as get your hands on some Misfit Island Muchies.
