Happy Tuesday and second to last week of the Winter CSA Season! For many of you this week will be your last and we want to thank you for your contribution to our farm, we've loved growing veggies for you!
This week we are all feeling the changes of the season. That rain we got in early spring is now all but a dream and the air feels more still and dry. I see more fruit hanging from trees and new things coming into bloom. The spring has always been an exciting season for me. I love the anticipation of summer: fruit season, slow season, dry season. These are changes that I find I'm always ready for around this time of year and they always come just in time. I get so excited about the fruit we will get to share with you all and our staff and one of my favorite activities right now is just wandering around the orchard looking at everything to come.
While anticipation and excitement is good, I'm also really enjoying many of the things we are currently producing. Our eggplant is starting to come in heavier and this variety is my absolute favorite. The fruits are smooth and silky but still have that great meaty texture of a good eggplant. We are still going strong with lots of greens and lettuce is ever abundant. Our baby bok choy has turned into adult bok choy seemingly overnight so those will be listed in the shares as individual heads rather than groups of three. Our broccoli is trucking along, same with our cherry tomatoes and we will have those items to list in no time.
We are also doing a fair amount of planting this week to prepare for our upcoming Summer CSA. This week we will be getting some sweet corn in the ground as well as a next round of green beans, cucumber and okra! If you would like to continue into the next season, make sure you have auto-renew turned on and you will be automatically signed up. The adjustment period begins April 18 and ends April 22 during which time you can change your payment plan or edit any of your information that may have changed from last season. If you have any questions pertaining to our next season please reach out!
Have a great week!
