This week we said goodbye to our donkeys Pippin and Pearl. We don't have a good space to keep them anymore so we gave them to our neighbor to use in looking after his sheep. We will miss their presence but know they are onto bigger and better things!
This week we are continuing to work on setting up new fields for planting. The current drought is making it challenging to keep some of our fields irrigated but we are trying to work through it. I find it frustrating that many of our plantings from a few months ago are taking longer to start producing heavily because they aren't getting as much water as they require. Thankfully we are able to source from other farmers to fill in the gaps where our crops are lacking. I'm finding it very interesting to see what crops really do well in these conditions and which are having a harder time. Luckily our fruits like mangoes and pineapple don't mind the dry and are able to continue to give us an inventory each week.
We hope everyone has a fantastic week and is able to keep their plants watered! We look forward to seeing you all this weekend
