Even up here on our breezy ridge the heat of summer has been getting to us quite a bit. Water is evaporating more quickly even with our almost nightly rains and fruits are ripening quickly. The orchard is trying to make a come back and save our fruit season and we will continue to have a small quantity of mango available again this week with promises of avocado and genips for the next weeks to come.
This week our crew is finishing up the last few plantings to get us through the end of the CSA season. We have been planting our next successions of greens as well as beans, peas and carrots! Our zucchini crop is still going strong, we have plenty of greens and we are on the cusp of having a large production of okra as well.
If you are in need of some inspiration for cooking with your CSA veggies, come by this Saturday or next for a Slow Down Dinner prepared by the farm managers. RSVP by emailing us or texting Nate!
We hope you all have a great rest of your week and we look forward to seeing you all this weekend
