Thanks to everyone who came out to support at the VI Agrifest and our Slow Down dinner this past weekend and President’s Day holiday. Between that and our biggest day of farm shares yet this season, we hardly stopped moving crops until Tuesday. Now after a quick breather we get another stretch of planting and crop care for the weeks yet to come. If you missed the dinner, don’t worry because the next one will be March 1st. If you’d like to join, get on our mailing list for the official dinner announcement and RSVP info. We’d love to see you on the farm.
Some of the next rounds of crops are starting to show this week among all the other options, with a strong eggplant showing, more shares of green beans, and baby arugula. I am amazed that we are still getting the rather consistent rains that are making crops move through quickly. What a blessing:)
People have asked if they can come help out on the farm for a day of volunteering, and the answer is yes of course, we would love it. If you’d like to get your hands in the dirt, lend a hand, and see exactly where the food originates, let us know and we can work you in a day or two in the upcoming weeks.
Also, put our 15th annual Bush Skills Rendezvous on your calendar coming up this March 5-8th. The event includes two class sessions a day on primitive, sustainable, and homestead living skills. The event as always culminates with the original Bush Chef event in the bamboo grove. It’s all about using locally sourced foods to create a feast with only natural flame and fascinating outdoor cooking methods. Check out our site for more info and registration options.
Thanks for supporting the VI’s organic farm and our egg and beer providers
