Dear CSA Family,
On Saturday night, we watched a documentary called “The Economics of Happiness.” Although already dated (it was produced in 2011), it’s truths were nonetheless very up-to-date. Bottom line: Globalization and materialism are not producing on their promises of happiness and prosperity. Conversely, it’s localization that is actually promoting healthy and happy individuals, communities, economies and environment.
We are grateful to be a small part of the localization movement, and even more grateful that you each are helping make that a reality. Together we can make a difference! Together we can make the world a more sane and safe place to live, work, and eat!
On a different, yet related note, I’m sure many of you heard or saw the latest scientific study released this week which validates a truth many of us have known for a long time: that eating more fruits and vegetables (and less meat) may be one of the greatest hopes for actually slowing climate change. Isn’t it interesting that what’s good for the environment is also good for our health (physical, mental, and spiritual)? It re-affirms our belief that there is a Mastermind behind it all — a Creator God who knew what He was doing when He created man, put Him in a garden and told him to eat from that garden.
We remain committed to doing all we can to preserve the health of the planet and our bodies. Thank you for believing in us enough to join us in the (ad)venture of local, sustainable, organic food production!
