Welcome to Week 15!
If ever there was one, this is the WEEK OF THE PEPPER! We not only have an abundance of huge, glossy, blocky bells, but we also have our entire suite of small spicy and sweet peppers: jalapeños, mad hatters, banana peppers, shishitos and snackers! The three spicy peppers (jalapeños, mad hatters and banana peppers) make a beautiful trio when pickled. We made them last weekend and plan to enjoy them in tacos and on pizza all winter.
We are cruising on our employee cabin, with the goal of finishing the outside by the time our new baby arrives in mid-October. That will give us all winter to get the inside done before a new crew starts next April.
On Friday, 9/2, we celebrated Katherine's birthday and it just so happened that Katherine, Rémy and June were all wearing conductor overall shorts! We couldn't be making it through this season without Rémy, and Katherine couldn't be making it through a summer pregnancy without the shorts.
