There are three weeks left in the Fall CSA. When it finishes (December 18 is the last delivery), we will take 2 weeks off. We will resume sales through our online store beginning on January 8 (store will open January 4).
With so little time left, why not try something new? My suggestion is komatsuna! If you haven't tried it yet, it is the crop about which we most often hear comments such as "I had no idea what it is but wow!". It is an Asian green also called "Japanese mustard spinach". The stems are very sweet, especially in the cold months, and they have a pleasant crisp crunch. It is great raw in salads (just tear it up) as well as steamed or pureed in greens soup. Seriously, don't let the CSA go by without trying it. We don't grow it in the summer because it doesn't taste nearly as good - so snatch it up!
