Welcome to Week 2!
PLEASE NOTE: We would like to request that you transfer your produce into your own bag when you come to pick up each week. We are running short on CropBoxes, and the manufacturer doesn't make them anymore. This is different than in years past, but if possible we'd like you to leave the box with us. Thanks so much for understanding!
We sincerely hope you enjoyed your first week of produce. This week we have stunning celery, so if you don't get it in your box automatically, be sure to swap it in if celery is your thing! It is Spencer's favorite vegetable to eat on the farm right now. Katherine's is beans, which are a new crop this week. June's favorites are carrots, beets and radishes!
The rain and cool temps continue to challenge us, but it's in a spring like this that we fully appreciate and utilize our high tunnels, both heated and unheated. We keep emptying them (by harvesting crops) and filling them back up with crops that would typically go outside this time of year and they are benefitting from the protection rather than suffocating in the higher heat and humidity of a closed environment.
We encourage you to play around with swapping so you try everything that we have to offer. With few exceptions, everything we have this week will come and go regularly throughout the season (if it's not a weekly staple!). Enjoy the produce this week and we'll see you soon!
