Around here, it is definitely Fall. We call it Farmer Fall because it doesn't align with the lunar calendar! Farmer Fall is September, October and November. Farmer Winter is December, January and February. Farmer Spring is March, April and May and Farmer Summer is June, July and August. This breakdown much more closely lines up with our seasons. Case in point:
We're wearing long sleeves and/or jackets in the morning, we're cleaning onions, we're sitting down while doing so, and we have time do do it because there is less to pick!
Another case in point:
We had to clean onions to make room on the new curing racks for winter squash!
We are, admittedly, thrilled at the changing of the seasons and the sense of optimism and completion that brings.
Summer crops are winding down, but basil is back briefly and we still have tomatoes! Last chance for caprese salads!

p.s. we grew that corn in our home garden; what do you think? Should we sell it next year?!
